SIRI deaf and mute

I have two cars from FCA group with different infotainment systems:
1) a Fiat 500x with Uconnect Live 6.5"
2) an Alfa Romeo Stelvio with Alfa Connect Nav 8.8??

The Fiat 500x works flawlessly with Siri, when I click on the steering wheel voice activation command, then Siri responds via the car's speakers. In addition, voice dictation works fine.

On the Alfa Romeo instead, my iPhone behaves strangely, with no apparent explanation or message to the user. When it is connected to the car?s Bluetooth, the voice control button on the steering wheel starts the car's own assistant, Siri doesn?t react.
When I click on Home button, Siri tries to start, but when I speak it does not hear anything, it keeps asking me to say something. In addition, voice dictation does not listen. It seems the iPhone is deaf and mute.
I hope there will be fixes on Alfa Romeo side, to have full compatibility.

I'm trying to give feedback to Apple also, I dont find it admissible that such sofisticated phone doesnt recognize its state of being useless in that moment.

marcellen,
I don't believe it is the phone's fault. As far as I know, the current Stelvios' entertainment system do not have Apple CarPlay installed which you would need for SIRI to work. The information coming from Alfa is vague on this subject. All they say here in the US is that CarPlay will be available "later". I don't know what the availability will be for Italy, maybe sooner!

I believe in this particular case, Apple CarPlay doesnt have to do with the issue. Siri works fine on other cars like Fiat 500X, that don't have CarPlay.
Another remark: other apps such Google Maps are working fine, voice dictation through car's microphone is perfect, as well as the feedback to the car's speakers. So the issue is between Apple's own apps and Alfa Infotainment.

Stelvio CarPlay & Android Auto

When you say Google Maps is working fine, I assume you mean it plays the sounds over the car's speakers. Almost any car with Bluetooth or USB will do that. But you cannot see Google Maps or Apple Maps on your screen, right? Voice commands through the car's microphone will certainly communicate with the car's infotainment system. That's a standard feature. But there is NO connection from your car's microphone to your mobile phone and no software to support it, so you cannot use your car's microphone to talk to SIRI. Under certain circumstances you may be able to speak directly into your mobile phone (not through the car's microphone) and hear SIRI's reply over the car's audio. The functionality you want will only be possible when the necessary electronics and software for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are installed in the new Stelvio, hopefully sometime in the near future!

I have the same problem with my 2018 Stelvio. I previously had a 2015 VW GTI and I could also control Siri by pressing the steering wheel voice activation button. My VW did not have Apple car Play but I could use lots of Siri functionality though. Hoping an update will fix this. My local dealer has not been any help.
